Food Distribution

Mobile Comunidad collaborates with the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County to conduct bimonthly mobile food distribution in hard-to-reach and remote areas of the county. This involves planning, organizing, and executing bimonthly food distributions at two remote locations (Davis Mountains Resort & Valentine). Without this collaboration, the food pantry would not be able to carry out remote food distributions. Mobile Comunidad also helps operate a Kids Pantry at the Jeff Davis County Library in partnership with the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County. The Kids Pantry provides kid-friendly, healthy foods (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) to children of all ages (newborn through high school graduation). This program runs daily, including the summer months. Mobile Comunidad distributes healthy snacks (paid for by the food pantry) daily during the school year to all FDISD schools.
